Ammannia senegalensis is an attractive freshwater plant commonly used in aquascaping due to its vibrant coloration and unique growth pattern. Originating from West Africa, it is known for its striking red to reddish-purple leaves, which become more intense under high light and with adequate nutrient availability, especially iron. The plant can grow up to 50 cm (20 inches) tall, making it suitable for midground to background placement in aquariums. Ammannia senegalensis thrives in warm water (22-28°C or 72-82°F) and requires moderate to high lighting, along with a nutrient-rich substrate for optimal growth. Due to its need for specific conditions, it is considered more suitable for experienced aquarists.
UPON ARRIVAL
Rinse plants under lukewarm water.
